Millwood’s pillars represent the servitude, trust, discipleship, and integrity that we strive for each and every day. For those who go above and beyond, we acknowledge their contributions to Millwood and to their communities with the pillar award.
This annual award is the highest honor a Millwood team member can receive. In past years, only one team member out of 1,600 received the pillar award, but for two years running, we have honored one person from each Millwood location.
Each pillar award winner was nominated by their fellow team members at their location. Nominations included testimonies about how those team members represent Millwood’s pillars and the effect they have had on those around them. The executive team then chose winners from those nominations.
Many pillar winners have been with Millwood for several years and have a deep connection with Millwood and its culture. Their relationships with their fellow team members are very important to them, and their dedication to comradery shows.
“Every day when I come to work, I socialize with my friends and we start working, and all of this makes me happy,” Rochester, NY pillar winner Oscar Nieves said. “Winning this award has a special meaning to me.”
Other winners had similar feelings about putting their coworkers first.
“It means a lot to win this award. I always try to put others first,” Terry Miller, winner from Vienna, OH said. “I am truly blessed and thank God for my life.”
Some are very humbled to have won the award out of many qualified candidates.
“It is an honor to have been chosen for this award,” Tompkinsville, KY winner Jacob Thompson said. “There are a lot of great people that work here, and for me to have been chosen, I am very thankful.”
Another common trait among pillar winners is optimism and a positive attitude. Those who show up to work with a mindset of gratitude and joy have a positive effect on those around them.
“I always stay positive and keep God first,” Luis Leon from Mechanicsburg, PA said. “I feel very blessed.”
Millwood is honored to have team members who so greatly exemplify the pillars we strive for. Congratulations to all winners.
