Millwood Gathering 2022: Make a Difference

On Tuesday, May 10, Millwood held its tenth annual gathering at Faith Family Church in Canton, OH. Team members from across the country gathered to honor Christ and offer fellowship with one another. The theme of the event was Make a Difference, based on 1 Corinthians 11:1, which reads, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”

The gathering in its earliest years began as a way for Millwood chaplains to connect with one another but has since expanded to include all salary team members. This year Millwood also offered team members the opportunity to bring one guest. This was the second year we live-streamed the event on YouTube, which creates the opportunity to broadcast The Gathering to each Millwood facility and any team members unable to attend.

The event kicked off with a prayer and welcome message from Frank Hyatt, Millwood’s director of chaplain ministries, followed by a message from Pastor Mike Cameneti, founder of Faith Family Church and friend of Millwood. The event also included praise and worship music from Faith Family Church and greetings from Millwood’s co-owners, Chip Trebilcock and Steve Miller. Interspersed between these messages were video testimonials from team members that illustrated how Millwood and especially its chaplains have had a positive impact on their lives.

The keynote speaker for this year’s gathering was John Bevere, an international minister and best-selling Christian author. John’s speech focused on the meaning of honor in a Christian context and emphasized the importance of honoring others as Christ instructed us to. Each team member attending received a copy of two of John’s books, Honor’s Reward and X: Multiply Your God-Given Potential. John also shared his free online discipleship app called Messenger X, which includes books, courses and other valuable resources to help individuals grow in their faith.

As a faith-based company whose mission is to be a light in the marketplace, our Christian values drive all that we do. The gathering is a reminder for Millwood and its team members to focus on what matters most - the love that Jesus has (and asks of) each one of us.
