Homelessness is a major issue across the country, and Florence, SC is no exception. The House of Hope has been serving and sheltering those facing homelessness in the Florence area since 1990. Jean and Bill Fryar opened the community shelter after seeing the troubling number of homeless people being turned away from other shelters. They served more than 50,000 meals in 2019 alone.
At the end of each year, Millwood holds an award ceremony to celebrate sales and operation achievements. The pillar award is the most prestigious award at Millwood and is given to team members who exemplify Millwood’s four pillars – Trust, Servitude, Discipleship and Integrity.
This October, the De Pere and New Hope operations participated in fundraising and awareness initiatives for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Team members from each plant were enthusiastic about raising money for this cause since it has touched many of their lives. They pulled together as a team to make positive impacts in their respective communities and helped those in need.
A group of Millwood, Inc. team members from several locations across the country came together with residents of Fremont, NE after a storm wreaked havoc leaving nearly 600 homes uninhabitable.
