Donated Pallets Carry Essential Supplies After Hurricane Helene

In the wake of devastating flooding and power outages caused by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, a crucial need arose for fire starters.

A Millwood customer who is a leading manufacturer of these essential supplies reached out to their regional sales manager with an urgent request. They needed a significant number of pallets produced quickly to ship fire starters to the affected areas.

Millwood was able to build 80 additional pallets in 48 hours, an order that would typically take 7-10 days. The company donated several of the fire starters, and Millwood in turn donated the pallets used to transport them.

“The customer saw a large uptick in sales for this fire starter product and tracked the increase to the recent hurricane-stricken locations buying these for heat,” the regional sales manager said. “Once I heard what they were using the pallets for, it made sense to just donate them.”

Millwood's ability to produce these pallets quickly transformed a business transaction into an opportunity to serve a community in crisis. The collaboration between Millwood and our customer highlight how businesses can mobilize resources to address urgent needs.

“Millwood has never shied away from meeting needs especially one of this magnitude,” the regional manager said.

Our mission is that all who come in contact with Millwood would clearly see the love of Christ in all that we do. It is a blessing to have the opportunity to share His love by supporting those affected by natural disasters and severe weather. Our prayers are with those affected by Helene.
