Delivering Joy: Shoeboxes Packed with Love Reach Children Worldwide

Team members across two Millwood locations in Ohio partnered with the church of the locations’ regional chaplain coordinator and recently packed and shipped 133 shoeboxes with gifts for children across the globe.

The Operation Christmas Child project, started by the evangelical Christian organization Samaritan’s Purse, aims to provide children in need with holiday gifts and inform them of the love of Christ.

“What's cool about the program is you can track your shoebox and see were it ends up in the world to bless a child,” the regional chaplain coordinator said.

Around ten team members participated in the project. This is the second time they have worked on Operation Christmas Child, having previously participated during the Christmas season of 2020.

The boxes they packed included toys for a girl or a boy, coloring books and crayons, hairbrushes and toothbrushes.

“It's such a blessing to be a blessing,” the regional chaplain coordinator said.

According to Samaritan’s Purse, the gift boxes will be the first gifts that some of the children receive, as well as their first introduction to Jesus Christ.

Millwood’s mission is that all who come in contact with our company would clearly see the love of Christ in all that we do. Participation in programs like Operation Christmas Child ensures that mission goes even further to those who need it most. Thank you to the teams who took the time to be a blessing for those individuals.
