Because of the complexity of supply chains, it is easy to lose sight of a single pallet. Unfortunately, the occasional disappearance of a single pallet can cost the pallet industry millions over the course of time. In fact, many pallets, especiallyplastic pallets, become absorbed into the pallet black market.
Wood is generally separated into two categories:hardwood and softwood.But why is balsa wood, one of the softest woods of all, considered a hardwood? Why is a yew tree classified as softwood even though it’s much harder than many hardwoods?
The Western Pallet Association (WPA) recently held their annual meeting in Rancho Mirage, California. Almost 200 people were in attendence for the "Get the Edge: Stay Sharp in 2018" conference. The meeting is open to both members and nonmembers alike, so Millwood (a member of the WPA) posed the question: why should someone become a member?
