National Day of Prayer

Millwood is proudly a faith-based company. We look to Christ for leadership and incorporate Biblical teachings into how we conduct business. Prayer has always been a part of the way we do things at Millwood, and that made yesterday, The National Day of Prayer, an important day for many of our team members.

The National Day of Prayer “exists to mobilize unified public prayer for America.” It is a call for Christians across the country to publicly and proudly join together in prayer on behalf of our nation.

This year’s theme is “LORD pour out Your LOVE, LIFE, and LIBERTY,” inspired by 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Millwood’s mission to lead through Christ is strengthened by our chaplains. Each Millwood location has a dedicated chaplain to assist team members in spiritual guidance. Pastor Liz Martinez, the chaplain at our Alburtis, PA location shared with us the importance of prayer.

“When I think on prayer this verse comes to my spirit:

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18, ‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’

‘Pray without ceasing,’ means that there is nothing too big or too small to pray for. ‘Give thanks in all circumstances,’ means that we must give thanks even when things don’t go the way we want them to. Our will is not His will, and we must honor His over our own.

Prayer is a joyful time of communication and exchange with God. I come confidently to the throne of grace, knowing that my Father desires to hear my heart. Prayer, to me, is vital to living and loving. If I don’t communicate with love, how can I demonstrate Him or His love to anyone?”

Millwood is richly blessed to employ team members who make God their priority in life. We invite our readers to pray with us, regardless of denomination or political affiliation.

Father, we thank you for today, and that we can come boldly before You to pray in freedom. Many don’t have the ability to have a National Day of Prayer, and for that we are grateful to have the freedom to declare this day a “National Day of Prayer.” We come into agreement to pray and declare You as the Lord of our nation. We pray for those that may not know you, and one day they may come to the fullness and revelation of Your Love, grace and forgiveness. Father, touch every soul that reads this, pull at their hearts so they may encounter You. Holy Spirit, bring comfort to those hurting because they feel muted during this season or feel they can’t pray. We pray for those that can’t pray and we come into agreement for their relationship with You. Jesus, be the lover of their souls and let them know You as their Groom on this day of Prayer. Let all come to know You as their God and Friend. Let a new level of communication be found in prayer. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
