National Accounts Sourcing Manager Chad McConnell was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Western Pallet Association (WPA), the leading advocate for the pallet industry in the western region of North America.
Chad’s first goal upon joining the board will be to join one of the four committees (State Advocacy, Member Engagement, Revenue Streams or Resources) where his input will have the most impact on the organization and the industry.
“I hope to help shape the future of the WPA, if even in some small way and help the membership grow and foster the atmosphere of collaboration that already exists,” Chad said.
Chad credits his Millwood family with encouraging him to pursue success in his own way.
“Millwood means family, that’s a phrase that we say a lot here, and the company really means it,” he said. “To me, it means I’m free to do my work in a way that’s best suited to me, and I am given the autonomy to do things as needed to get the best result and best work product.”
As a national accounts sourcing manager at Millwood, Chad frequently interacts with a wide variety of industry leaders. The connections he has built over the years have had an impact on him, and he hopes to carry that impact over to his new role on the WPA board.
“I’m very fortunate to get to travel the country meeting owners and managers of sawmills and pallet shops, and I get to build relationships with them, hopefully long-lasting ones,” he said. “Whether it’s one of Millwood’s nearly 40 facilities or a partner facility, the people are what make this industry and this job great.”
These connections and relationships inspired Chad to become more involved with the industry as a whole, including his WPA appointment.
“Getting to network with vendors all across the country and seeing the dedication they have to the Pallet Foundation and the organizations like the Western Pallet Association made me want to get involved,” he said. “This industry keeps you on your toes and is ever-evolving, and I want to be part of that evolution.”
Millwood’s mission is that all who come in contact with our company would clearly see the love of Christ in all that we do. We are blessed to have the ability to be a light in the marketplace through our team members.
