The Millwood team in Lordstown, OH celebrated their first year without an accident on August 9.

Their dedication to maintaining a safe work environment has stemmed from a daily commitment to safety practices, including consistent morning LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) procedures, regular toolbox talks, maintaining plant cleanliness and housekeeping and fostering a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility.

“We prioritize safety and encourage teamwork, where everyone is responsible for their own environment and that of their colleagues,” Regional Operations Manager Garrett Trebilcock said.

Plant Manager Sam Davis makes it a priority to consistently lead by example, demonstrating proper safety protocols such as wearing required PPE on the floor.

“Reaffirm that these guidelines are meant to help the team members, not hinder production, as we want to make sure everyone leaves the plant in same way they came in,” Sam said.

Lordstown has also invested in continuous safety training, ensuring all team members are up-to-date on best practices. Safety is reinforced daily, making it a habitual part of operations.

To foster a safe work environment, Sam and Garrett prioritize consistently providing employees with the knowledge they need to stay safe, reaffirming that safety guidelines are in place to protect team members.

They do this by regularly assessing and enhancing safety protocols and cultivating a mindset where every team member is responsible for their own safety and that of their fellow team members.

“Maintaining a clean facility is an important component for ongoing safety as well as spontaneous housekeeping assessments,” Garrett said.

This milestone not only reflects the team's commitment to safety but also reinforces Millwood's core value of prioritizing the well-being of all team members.

Our mission is that all who come in contact with our company would clearly see the love of Christ in all that we do, and the team in Lordstown exemplifies that mission by caring for the safety of themselves and others, ensuring team members go home the way they arrived at work: safely. Thank you to the team for your commitment to safety every day.
